Let those that have the gift of dreaming, dream!
“The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. “- Jer 23:28
A promise fulfilled today from Joel 2:28 and repeated again in Acts 2:17 is :
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see vision,”
Those that are filled with the Gift of the Spirit are called to be recipients of this outpouring. ‘Called To Be’, because you must have a desire to walk in the manifestation of receiving His outpouring. There needs to be a burning desire for the Saints to claim every promise of God and to expect to actively partake of them.
“Then said the LORD unto me, You have well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.” – Jeremiah 1:12
God always performs his Word. Matthew 6:33, ESV says,
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
There must be an expectation that we will have dreams and see visions. As we pray and confess the promises of God it is expedient that we claim we are those who have dreams and visions. Several dynamics of the characteristic of the Holy Spirit is that He is the Spirit of Truth, “…and He will show you things to come. “ – John 16:13-14
What an awesome advantage we as believers have over the fretful, and unbelieving world. As children of God we can go to the father and seek his will and have a certainty that we will be given the answers to life. There is no need to fear the unknown or the perilous condition the world finds itself in.
One way that God speaks to us is through dreams and visions. This is something we should believe God for. That expectancy must be stirred up through faith, prayer and confession. Through stirring it up, the Holy Spirit will move in our lives in this way. We can be assured God will do exactly that, give us dreams and visions.
Early on we were taught to go to bed with paper and pen nearby. The purpose of which is so that we could awaken from slumber and jot down the marvelous things revealed by the Holy Spirit. All too frequently, we are too rushed during the day to wait upon the Lord to speak to us after times of prayer. However, in the midnight, twilight hours and in the wee hours of the morning, the Holy Spirit will reveal truths through dreams and visions. He will whisper things to us when our spirit is resting and unencumbered with the business and drama of life.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” – Pro 25:2
This scripture tells us God may and will conceal a truth and it is up to us to search it out. God will keep things to his heart and as we draw closer to him, he will reveal that which was hidden.
The things of the Kingdom are for those that are in the Kingdom. We must not be shy or fearful but have a willing heart to press in more into the realm of the Spirit where secrets are fully revealed.
Remember, God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) Praying in the Spirit will open that spiritual doorway to The Lord where Truths are revealed.
Eph 6:18 says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
Many people will often say they had a dream but did not understand it. The things of God are precious, and valuable and greatly to be desired. They are great pearls.
Let’s look at it in this regard. The Parable of the Pearl (also called the Pearl of Great Price), is one of the many parables given by Jesus. It appears in Matthew 13:45-46. It illustrates the great value of the Kingdom of Heaven. It immediately follows the Parable of the Hidden Treasure, which has a similar theme. The things revealed in our dreams are of great value and are hidden treasures. They must be searched, researched and studied out.
God will speak to us in a language we understand. He will use things in a metaphoric and symbolic nature which we will be able to understand based on our life’s experiences and knowledge.
As we study them out, hidden truths will be revealed, strategies consisting of how to effectively pray will emerge and encouragement will rise as our victories are assured.
Some dreams are very easy to understand. Some take more thorough prayer and study. Once we begin to dissect our dreams and visions from the Lord, we will begin to realize that one picture, one dream, or one vision is worth more than a thousand words.
Stand and confess Joel 2:28, and Acts 2:17. God is faithful and you will be a dreamer of dreams as you walk in the ‘honor, increased weight and splendor’ of a king’ as you have the heart to search out the matter.
