Prophetic Words For Sale

 “But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.” – 2 Pet  2:1-4 LBT

If we are not mindful, like sheep, one can quickly be led astray.  Many are speaking and trying to get others to listen to their viewpoint. Many voices are competing for our time, money, and even, our very lives.  If there was ever a time to hold fast to the things of God, today is that day.  It is so vital for believers to spend quality time in the Word of God, time in the presence of God, and time praying in the Spirit of God.

We understand that the world is out to get us but beware, even within the church there are those who look at other believers for what they can do for them.  Every time we hear of a $50, or a $100 prophetic prayer line, we cringe.  Why?  Why are they trying to make merchandise of God’s people?  The command in the following set of scripture is clear; –

And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. The ability to minister to others was freely given.”  – Mat 10:7 -8

Where does it say charge people for the things of God?  The things of God must not be corrupted as stated clearly in 2 Co 2:17

For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

Even the slightest twisting of words which are used to manipulate people into giving is ‘Witchcraft’.  Blatant paying to receive a Word or a special prayer is an abomination before God.  God will judge them accordingly for these actions.  Those who stand behind the cross and look to the people as a means to their ends, clearly have not met God.  Further, their actions show that they have not learned to trust Him to provide for them.  If one has been called to minister the Word of God, then they must look to the Lord to meet their needs and not to the people.  God uses his people to give but that giving is done from a person operating by a ‘Free Will’ spirit.  There should never be a carrot dangling in front of God’s people to give  because they have been strong armed or promised a special prayer or some special anointing.  The latter here is no different then paying to light a candle.  All of those things fall under the category of “selling indulgences.”

An indulgence was a payment made to the church for special prayers and or for the remission of sins.  Ministers need to put their eyes back on God in dealing with God’s people  Let’s look at what Jude has to say;

“Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, “Listen! The Lord is coming with countless thousands of his holy ones  to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want”.- Jude  :14-16  – LBT

A Call to Remain Faithful

But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.” – Jude  :17-19  – LBT

Saints, give unto the Lord because God is leading you to do so.  Give because you love the Lord and want to further the work of the kingdom of God in the earth realm.  Give because in doing so you are constantly planting seed that will produce a harvest in your life and in that of your families’ lives.  Give because you are sowing into the legacy of future generations.  Give because you understand the concept of ‘Seed Time & Harvest’.  Don’t give to ‘get a Word’ or to ‘get a Healing’.  Giving under coercion is to succumb to the power of manipulation and witchcraft.  And just as you don’t want to be manipulated, don’t try and manipulate others.

Make the decision today, that manipulating and being manipulated will never be your portion.  Make the decision today, that will bless The Lord because of the purity of the motives of your actions.

May God’s Grace Abundantly Reign In Your Life,

Apostle Ric & Prophetess Kathy Steele
