“And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.” – Gen 1:11
“And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” – Gen 1:12
When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are born again of the Incorruptible Seed. (1 Pet.1:2-3) That seed of righteousness will produce within us everything that is good by the Spirit of God. In order for our fruit of the Spirit to grow in our lives, we must abide in Christ.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can “ – John 15:4-5.
The word ‘bear’ in regards to spiritual fruit (Gal 5:22-23), is the same word used when referring to a woman that bears or brings forth a child in labor during childbirth. This word means to carry, to endure, and to bring forth.
When you think of a woman who is expecting a child, you can visualize the stretching and expansion of her body to accommodate the baby (fruit) of her body. Firstly, the baby is connected and receives its nutrients from the mother via the umbilical cord. When the mother eats properly, exercises, and does what the doctor tells her to do, there is an expectation of bringing forth a healthy child.
In the realm of the spirit and in regards to ‘spiritual fruit’, the process is the same. As we abide in Christ, He is our Life Source. His Word is the food needed to bring forth good fruit. Our exercise is that we must be ‘doers’ of the Word of God and not hearers only. We stretch and grow during this process in order to accommodate the new fruit. When it is time for both the natural and spiritual baby to be born, there is pain and pushing. Sometimes, it hurts to bring forth fruit. The fruit has to go through the birth canal. The bearing process may not be easy, but the results are worth it. The pain of responding in a godly manner through the manifestation of fruit of the spirit may not be easy but there is great joy after as we know we have produced fruit.
God wants us to bear good spiritual fruit. It is pleasing to him as it shows forth His righteousness in our lives. We become examples of the manifested glory of who He is when the fruit of the spirit is actualized within us.

An Apostolic and Prophetic View of God’s Process for Personal Growth and Ministry
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
According to the Scripture, Romans 8:28 says- “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” The questions is, how do all these things work out to our benefit? God is a “God that declares “The End” from “The Beginning”. However, we must understand that He is also a God of process. There is a process that takes from the beginning unto the end.
