Yes, yes, yes, Lord!  I’m willing, and I promise to be obedient to do what you have called me to do!”

These are famous words spoken in prayer.  Our question is simply this, have you ever prayed this way and actually took the first steps to act obediently and do what The Lord has directed you to do?  If so, then we guarantee you have encountered fear standing in your way.  If you have experienced this, then remember that fear is a spirit, and that spirit must respond to your faith-filled words!  Take authority over it and command it to get out of your way in the Mighty Name of Jesus!

We are sure that the Apostle Paul had many opportunities to retreat in the face of fear and danger.  When we follow his life after his great conversion (Acts 9), there was one situation after another that he encountered that could easily have caused him or anyone to turn and go the other way.

However, with Paul as our example, we can follow the path that God has so graciously prepared for us with the same conviction and assurance that these following words will always ring out and prove to be our sure foundation:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Phil. 1:6)

As we studied Paul’s life, we were amazed at the number of people who were in place along the way to help him.  Once we say “yes” to the Lord, we must know that just as God was faithful to have others help Paul accomplish His Will, He will also have those who are preordained to help you in place so that you can fulfill His Plan.

We learn some amazing things within just a few short chapters about how God helps Apostle Paul.  Starting in Acts 9, we see that Ananias was there to help Paul receive his sight and to baptize him.  We also see that the disciples were in place at Damascus to teach and train him.  How does all this come about?  God orchestrated each one to be in their place at the right time so that they could fulfill their call of aiding and assisting Paul.  Likewise, we must know that God has already put people in place to do the very same for us when we say “YES” to His Will.  We must know that He will help us in the journey that He has called us to do.

As we read throughout Acts, let us mention some of the names of those who were ordained and in place to help Paul:

  1. Barnabas was in Damascus to meet him and became his co partner as they traveled together in ministry. (Acts 13)
  2. Lydia, the seller of purple (Acts 16:14), was in place to offer the hospitality of her home and food when it was needed.
  3. After being freed from the prison by the angels, the jailer took Paul and Silas both into him home to care for and feed them. (Acts 16:31)
  4. Then there was Jason (Acts 17:7) who had received Paul to aid and assist him.
  5. Let’s not forget Aquila and Priscilla, (Acts 18) and Justus. There was Apollos, Timotheus, and Erastus.  And the list continues…

As we read the life of the Apostle Paul, we can rejoice to know that God is no respecter of persons and that He has already set things in motion for us as well.  There will always help along the way.  There will always be someone to encourage you in the Faith.  Increased instruction and guidance will always follow.

We must be like Paul and be willing to do the Will of God, obediently taking the first step that He puts before us. As we take the first step, we should have the assurance that the next step, along with the people who are preordained to help us carry out God’s vision and Plan, will be there when we arrive.

Be encouraged!  And know the God is faithful!
