It’s a time to remain in prayer and in the Spirit of God where we can hear and see those things that the Holy Spirit is releasing to us in this hour.
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them,
‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
“For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.” – Joh 5:19-20
The promise of ‘seeing what the Father wants us to see’ was not only for Jesus, but it is also currently available for every Believer that is willing to continually look to the Father. We are to look to the Word of God for instruction, correction and guidance.
“Howbeit when He the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come” – John 16:13
As we look at the previous scripture the word ‘He’, in reference to the Holy Spirit, is mentioned seven times. Seven is the number of Spiritual Perfection. This scripture stresses the importance of our reliance on HIM, the Holy Spirit, as the one who does the showing and the speaking of ‘things to come’. The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are one.
The Holy Spirit does not hide anything from us. We are the ones who must search and seek out truth.
King Solomon spoke it this way;
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” – Pro 25:2
There has never been a time when we sought the Lord concerning something that He has not responded. Sometimes it is with a scripture, a song, a dream, a vision, or perhaps a spoken word from someone. The point is, that God will always respond to us. He will always show us. He will always lead and guide us. We are the sheep of His pasture, and He is our Good Shepherd.
Early on in our Christian walk, the older Saints would encourage us by saying “Ask God to show you a picture in the Spirit, ..and ask Him to explain it to you.” Lastly, they would say, “Date it and write it down so you will never forget it.”
What wise word! This is a practice we have continued through many years. Where is this concept in scripture you may ask? We’re glad you asked! In Hab 2:1-3, it says:
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
To ‘stand upon your watch’ means going to the prayer closet! Pray yourself up and out of the physical realm until you have been lifted up into the spiritual realm. Seek God and wait until He shows you what He wants you to know, and then WRITE IT DOWN!
Paul puts it this way;
“I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.” – 2 Co 12:2 – 4
Saints, I encourage you to allow yourself to be caught up in the Spirit. Pray fervently until you get there! This is something you can do and believe me, it is very rewarding to have the Father drop sweet things into your spirit. Pictures can easily be understood because they are primarily things you already have an understanding of. By example, if you are a car person, the Father may show you or speak to you using references referring to cars or car lingo. He might give you a concept or a solution stemming from that perspective. You can be assured that God knows each of us and He certainly knows how to minister to us in ways that we will be able to comprehend.
John on the isle of Patmos put it this way;
“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” – Rev 4:1-2
Be encouraged today! Seek to be among those who can see and hear Heavenly things. Be among those who are hungry for more of the Lord’s Spirit. Be among those are willing and obedient to follow His leading and do those things which He shows us to do!
